It’s Time to Close the Racial Wealth Gap.

Olayinka Osibodu is a wealth equity investor and strategist working with Impact Investment Funds, Corporations, and Nonprofit Organizations to Decrease the Racial Wealth Gap through shifting capital and resources to disinvested communities. No matter where you are on your journey, we are here to equip you to advance Global Liberation. Here, we are shifting wealth + capital + agency to Black communities— rooted in Empathy & Action.

Olayinka Osibodu is currently available for speaking & consulting engagements.

I’m based in Atlanta, GA, but most likely in the window seat of an airplane right now.

After graduating with a degree in Sociology & Public Policy, I immediately went to work in the United States Congress in Washington, D.C., focusing on Community Wealth Development Policy. Over time, I became more fascinated with the people most affected by systems, rather than the systems themselves—which lead to me leading several initiatives that focused on racial and economic justice for the past decade.

I cofounded, Melanin Essentials, a social impact startup for Black Women + BIPOC Leaders to use Self Care as Resistance to Racism. All of our products are Certified Organic, Cruelty-Free, with Eco-Conscious Packaging. We are Certified B Corp and founding members of the BCorp Beauty Coalition, to Improve Social & Environmental Practices of the Beauty Industry.

As the Director of Portfolio Engagement at Common Future, I conducted numerous research studies and launched several initiatives that Invested Capital & Power to BIPOC Businesses & Communities to close the Racial wealth Gap. I also lead the work of shifting power and holding infinity spaces of equity, inclusion, & leadership for Equity Practitioners all over the U.S & Canada.

I cofounded Dismantle Collective, an all person of color group whose goal is to name, disrupt, and Dismantle Systemic White supremacy in executive spaces and culture through the healing, centering, and power shifting that centers BIPOC people.

As one of the founding members of WeTheChange, an organization of Womxn CEO’s and Executives creating a radically inclusive & richly regenerative global economy, I have trainings and initiatives that led to practices of equity and belonging awareness in businesses, communities, and leaders all across the organization— and all over the world.

Studies show that Black wealth will fall to $0 by 2053 and that at current trends— it will take Black wealth 259 years to catch up to White wealth (assuming White wealth stops growing). Additionally, only .006% of venture capital goes to Black Women. There is a global need to shift capital to BIPOC entrepreneurs, leaders, and communities now.

My life’s work is to close the growing gender + racial wealth gap— by investing in change leaders and founderswho aim to end the anti-black racism + patriarchy that fuels it.

Today, I co-create fully customizable strategies and initiatives for Founders, Executives, and Economic Justice Organizations to implement the most inclusive, equitable, and optimal outcomes in their approach. I consult change agents who are addressing the racial wealth gap. I’m also writing a book, “Beyond the Smile” on the power of Equity & Empathy, to be published next year.

When I am not leading initiatives for Economic Justice and Equitable Leadership, I am most likely in my forever happy place— snuggled up on my family room with my three sweet children.
